October to March is the best time with pleasant weather across Kerala. The backwater houseboat experience is especially beautiful in this period. Monsoon (June–September) brings heavy rains — though Ayurvedic treatments are traditionally said to be most effective during this time.

A Kerala houseboat (kettuvallam) is a traditional rice barge converted into a floating cottage with AC bedrooms, a kitchen, and a sundeck. You cruise through the backwater canals of Alleppey at a leisurely pace. Check-in is at 1 PM and the boat moors by 5:30 PM for the night.

Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram is open to Hindus only. Non-Hindus are not permitted inside. A strict dress code applies — men must wear dhoti and women must wear saree or traditional Kerala dress. Western clothing is not allowed.

6 What Ayurvedic treatments are available?

Kerala is the home of authentic Ayurveda. Popular treatments include Shirodhara (warm oil poured on forehead), Abhyanga (full body oil massage), Panchakarma (detox therapy), and Nasyam (nasal therapy). We can arrange sessions at certified Ayurvedic centres at most hotel stops.
